Secure jointing

Every year a large number of unnecessary damages to district heating systems are discovered. However, years of urgent work within the trade have reduced the error rate to 0.003 per year and kilometre. Despite this improvement, we continue our efforts to improve quality and thus reducing the costs associated with these faults. 

We recommend the following actions

The customer:

• Use only contractors and jointing companies that are certified. 
• Create good working conditions for jointing. 
• Place orders in good time and take into consideration that jointing takes time. 
• If the jointer thinks that the work cannot be carried out in a professional way, on a certain occasion, respect his or her opinion. 
• Train the jointers and use supervisors. 
• Secure the quality of the work. 

The supplier:

• Use only  contractors and jointing companies that are certified. 
• Provide training at regular intervals. 
• Give the jointer moral support when he or she demands better working conditions.
• Secure the quality of work through inspections. 

The jointing company:

• Use only jointers thar are certified. 
• Raise an objection if the work cannot be carried out in a safe way due to working conditions or external causes. 
• Test pressure and inspect every joint by ocular inspection. 
• Secure the quality of the work.
